In June 2004, the Board selected Mrs. Jodell Seay to become the first Executive Director of Portland Christian School.  This new superintendent-like position encompasses all the duties of the former position of Administrator while recognizing the increased responsibilities inherent in a multi-campus operation.  She is the senior executive responsible for all aspects, educational and operational, in the functioning of a growing, modern school system.  She also serves as the Director of Admissions and is a member of the Board of Directors.   

Mrs. Seay, a 1977 graduate, joined the faculty in 1982 as an elementary teacher and rose to the position of principal of the Montgomery Street Campus and the new North Bullitt Campus which opened in the fall of 2002.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in education.  She represents the Association of Christian Schools International as a member of the Kentucky Non-public Schools Commission.  She and her husband, John, have three daughters who have graduated from PCS.

Mrs. Jean Lawyer, a 1970 graduate, joined the teaching staff of PCS in 1984 and has served as principal of the elementary school at the North Campus since 2004. She is a graduate of Southeastern Christian College and Indiana University and holds Bachelor and Master of Science in Education degrees with an emphasis in language arts. In addition to her certification in Kentucky and Indiana, she holds lifetime professional teaching and administrative certification from the Association of Christian Schools International. She and her husband Tim, also a 1970 graduate, have a son and daughter, both graduates of PCS.

Mrs. Barbara Jacobs joins the PCS administrative team this year.  She has 28 years of public school teaching experience in central Kentucky and additionally two years of college teaching.  “I feel the Lord has called me to serve in Christian education.  I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to join the administrative staff at Portland Christian School.”  Mrs. Jacobs holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Masters degree in education, and a Rank 1 in curriculum. She will be assisting with the campuses at Oldham County and North Bullitt.  Mrs. Jacobs and her husband have two children and one grandchild.

Mrs. Jennifer Haynes, a 1993 graduate, joined PCS in 1998.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History degree from Georgetown College and a Masters in Education from Indiana Wesleyan. She also holds a secondary school teaching certificate with a middle-school endorsement.  She and her husband, Michael, have two daughters one who is in the second grade and one who will be starting kindergarten next fall.

Mr. Tim Morrow, Guidance Counselor, is a 1975 graduate who returned to PCS in 2002 having been with the Louisiana public schools since 1981.  He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in math education and a Master of Education degree. He holds lifetime state certification in mathematics, physics, general science, supervision and counseling.  Mr. Morrow and his wife, Linda, have two sons who attend PCS.

Mrs. Lisa Nethery, Director of Finance, is a 1978 graduate who joined PCS in 1989 as business teacher.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.  Mrs. Nethery served as the first Director of Development serving until 2000.  She and her husband, Will, a 1978 graduate, have three daughters--two of whom have graduated and one who currently attends PCS.  Mrs. Nethery is a member of the School Board.
